You can only refreeze chicken if it has been defrosting in the fridge.
Chicken will have a weird smell if it has sat in a plastic bag with all its juices. Rinse the product and give it a bath of cold water and salt or vinegar.

The brown/grey areas come from the meat touching or sitting on top of each other.
The red juice that comes out of any meat or chicken is called myoglobin. Its when the protein loses the ability to hold onto water and it releases a red/pinkish liquid. It’s totally normal and perfectly fine to use. It could also be some pigmentation leaking from bone marrow.
Do not defrost the burgers, put them on the grill/BBQ frozen.
The hotdogs are made from beef and veal, they are already cooked. The sausages are made from lamb mostly, they need to be cooked.
Our small good do not contain any gluten.
Our meat is Kosher for Passover all year round. Our small goods, pickled meats and minces are not kosher for Passover all year round, only a couple weeks before Passover.
To minimise deterioration, we recommend to defrost chicken or meat in the fridge overnight. However, for a faster result, you can defrost chicken or meat in cold water, and change the water every 30 minutes.
We do not do same day orders, all orders should be in by 3pm the day before your pickup/delivery.
Delivery is between 3-5pm.

Wed only: South Caulfield, Brighton.
Delivery is $6 for local for an order over $60 (otherwise delivery charge is $10), and $15 for any orders requiring a courier.

Returns, Refund, and Cancellation Policy
To cancel an order, please contact us by phone during the working hours 24 hours in advance of the expected pick-up or delivery. In the event that your order has not yet been processed, even if it is on the same day, you are still able to cancel or change the order. However, once your order has already been processed, we cannot allow cancellations or items added to your order.
Due to the perishable nature of our products and kashrut regulations, we are unable to offer returns or replacements for any products.
If there was an error on our part, please be in contact to let us know by phone or email us at email@example.com, and we will rectify the issue.
The customer will not face any charge for returning goods sent in error.
If you are entitled to a refund, we will refund you in the same way as the original payment was made.
We process all refunds to the original card used when you placed your order. If your card has expired, please contact us by phone to arrange refund.
We process all refunds within 24 hours of receiving the goods back, but keep in mind that it can take up to three working days for the refund to show up on you card.

For your benefit, please place your order as early as possible. We must receive any order to be included in a delivery or pick up before midnight on the night before. The orders that come in after midnight will be pushed off to another delivery or pick up day. For example: If we deliver from 3 pm on Thursday, you must be sure to place your order before midnight on Wednesday. Please place your order 24 hours in advance for early morning pick-ups.
At Melbourne Kosher Butchers we make every effort to ensure your purchase gets to you quickly and safely. Your order will be packed and dispatched, provided:
-The item you have chosen is in stock
-The delivery address has been verified
-Payment has been approved
To accept a delivery, you must be there at the location when the driver arrives. Otherwise, appropriate delivery instructions must be included in your meat order. If the customer has not specified appropriate delivery instructions for MKB, the meat will be returned to our premises. It will be sent out on the next delivery day when the customer can accept the meat order. However, the customer will be charged an additional delivery fee of $6.00.
There is a $6.00 delivery charge and a minimum order value of $30.00
Once the package is delivered, it is the responsibility of the customer to refrigerate or freeze it. Melbourne Kosher Butchers cannot be responsible for any spoilage that occurs after the meat is delivered.
The price you will be charged for a product is the price at which it was advertised online on the day you put your order through. Since our products are fresh and the pricing fluctuates, you will charged accordingly.
There are two categories for online pricing. In one category, the items are charged per item. In the other category, items are charge according to weight.
In order to charge our customers for the exact weight of an item and not overcharge them, we will apply a refund to your credit card when your order is weighed at the time we process it. After placing a one kilo meat order online, for example, you will receive a refund if the final weight of the meat is slightly less than a kilo.
Deliveries are available Tuesday through Thursday from 2 to 5 pm. Days may be added if there is an increased demand. Orders that come in from Thursday through Monday can be picked up, or if delivery is preferred, they will be delivered on the following Tuesday.
St. Kilda/Elsternwick/Caulfield/North Caulfield takes place on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
South Caulfield/Brighton on Wednesday only.
